MONDAY MINDSET

Start your week with the right mindset to live a Life Designed by God

Colossians 3:2 (ESV)

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Any way you Bless me Lord, I will be Satisfied!!!!

And, YES, I will take the Leftovers.

John 6:8-13 TLB

8-9 Then Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up. “There’s a youngster here with five barley loaves and a couple of fish! But what good is that with all this mob?” 10 “Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus ordered. And all of them—the approximate count of the men only was five thousand—sat down on the grassy slopes. 11 Then Jesus took the loaves and gave thanks to God and passed them out to the people. Afterwards he did the same with the fish. And everyone ate until full! 12 “Now gather the scraps,” Jesus told his disciples, “so that nothing is wasted.” 13 And twelve baskets were filled with the leftovers!

Many people have a thing with leftovers. Some people even when it comes to food, are beyond eating leftovers. Can I encourage you that leftovers are not bad when they come from the Lord? The disciples collected 12 baskets of left over food. Enough for each disciple to receive a basket overflowing with food after feeding the crowd and the crowd was satisfied. They started with 2 small fish, 5 small loaves of bread and the blessings of the Lord. I say leftovers are a blessing.

Jesus asked the disciples what do you already have? The disciples doubted that what they had from the lunch of a young boy was enough to feed the crowd. Questioning what could they do with such little resources. After all, there was over 5,000 people and what they had was just 2 small fish and 5 small loaves of bread. Yet, Jesus took it, blessed it and everyone ate till they were full. The small was more than enough! You may think that you have very little, but with the blessings of God that little can become more than enough. So much so you will have leftovers to share. Do not miss what God has for you because you 1) think that what you have is not enough, 2) discount the power of the Lord to take the little and give you more than enough and 3) cannot see beyond the circumstance.

Although they doubted, Jesus still blessed the little resources and the disciples took time to serve the people with God's anointed blessings. Because of this the disciples were bountifully blessed with the anointed baskets of food. I know at times we doubt if what we have is enough -resources, time, energy; but, if we give it God, He will give us more than we can ever imagine or ask for. Ephesians 3:20 (TLB) Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

Leftovers are not waste. Jesus said collect it so it would not go to waste. He thought they were good enough to keep and so do I. SO WHAT IS THE IMPORTANCE OF GOD'S ANOINTED LEFTOVERS? IT IS THAT GOD IS THE SOURCE OF EVERY RESOURCE - BIG OR SMALL. GOD WILL TAKE YOUR LITTLE, BLESS IT AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH. WE MAY SEE IT AS LEFTOVERS, BUT IT IS ACTUALLY GOD GIVING YOU ABUNDANT PROVISION BEYOND WHAT YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE.

Lord, bless what little I have - my resources, my time and my energy. Dear Lord, anyway you bless me, I will be satisfied. Lord, thank you in advance for the leftovers so that I may have abundant provision to Live Life Designed by God.

You are Abundantly Provided for,

Stay Encouraged,

Minister Dr. Dietrich
