CAREPRENEUR - MIDORI BROOKS
SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR
CAREGIVER, ADVOCATE, WARRIOR
Through the support of Designed by God, family, faith, and caring community partners, Midori discovered she did not have to walk through her journey alone. She found encouragement in people who listened, prayed, checked in, and reminded her that her life still carried meaning beyond her illness. Those moments of support became lifelines during some of her hardest seasons.
Midori’s story is more than a testimony about illness—it is a testimony about dignity, visibility, and hope. Her lived experience highlights the importance of culturally responsive, community-centered care that recognizes the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. She understands firsthand how isolation, lack of awareness, and limited support can impact individuals living with chronic illness and caregivers alike.
Today, Midori uses her voice to help others feel seen.
By sharing her journey through collaborations with Designed by God, she hopes to increase awareness about sarcoidosis, encourage caregivers who are silently struggling, and inspire communities to lead with compassion and trust. She believes healing is not only found in medicine, but also in connection, faith, advocacy, and the willingness of communities to stand beside one another.
Her message is simple but powerful:
Even in moments of exhaustion, uncertainty, and pain, there is still purpose.
Even while caregiving for others, caregivers deserve care too.
And even through illness, she remains—Designed by God.

There are battles people can see, and then there are the ones carried quietly behind a smile.
For me, Midori Brooks, life has been a journey of faith, caregiving, resilience, and perseverance. I am a devoted mother and grandmother of children with neurodiversity. I have spent much of my life pouring into others—supporting, nurturing, advocating, and showing up even when life became overwhelming. But while caring for those I love, I also found myself facing a difficult battle of my own: sarcoidosis.
Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease that can affect multiple organs in the body, often bringing chronic fatigue, pain, breathing complications, and emotional strain. Some days, the symptoms can be debilitating. Tasks that many people take for granted can suddenly feel impossible.
Yet despite the physical challenges, I continue to press forward—not because it’s easy, but because I refuse to let my diagnosis define my purpose.
